What is Fine Art Photography?

During the 2018 summer, a fellow artist (painter) from an adjacent booth stopped in my booth for a few minutes during a lull period. His answer, “You’ll know it when you see it.”

Every print is personally printed and hand-signed by me.

Fine art photography is like a great song, a campfire with friends, a rainbow in the early evening, and a quiet study of the river flowing by.

Could there be any better compliment about one’s photography than that expressed by this young child?

At art shows, I’ll periodically be asked questions specific to my fine art prints. “Do you edit your images”. “Are your images PhotoShopped?”

Fine art photography is not a commodity. It is unique to the artist, and thankfully, many understand this.

Over the course of the art fair season, within the Powder Hill Photography booth, I’ll be asked if I teach photography seminars. Currently, I do not.

I started using Lightroom with my fine art landscape prints when it was first introduced and have continued, keeping current with all upgrades.
