Trout Lake Tranquility
Can You Feel the Breeze?
On a late afternoon in early August, I was standing along the eastern shoreline of Trout Lake, one of the largest lakes in Vilas County, northern Wisconsin.
The surface water was relatively calm; the afternoon sunlight casting elongated shadows along the pine needle-covered shore
From Beneath the Shoreline Trees
While I enjoyed the lake view, it was the almost parallel lines of the pines’ trunks and the diagonals of the shoreline that captured my attention.
Too often we take photos of the lake, but miss the scene from within the trees.
In Silent Melody
Standing in the shadows, the cool breeze off the lake gently moved the pine branches in rhythmic motion as if playing along with a silent melody.
It was very peaceful and relaxing – a great day to be “Up North”.
Can’t you imagine also standing along this same shoreline on this August afternoon?
