Meandering Boardwalk
It was late May, early in the afternoon. An overcast, cloudy sky diffused the sunlight from above.
On that spring day I had been hiking and photographing wildflowers within Pike Lake Unit, of the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest in southeastern Wisconsin.
Just before reaching the parking lot, the hiking trail joins with a circular handicapped-accessible paved walkway, part of which contains two boardwalks. This particular boardwalk follows along the lake shore and is built over a very wet, marshy area.
As I came to the start of the boardwalk the curve of the walkway caught my attention. The diffused sunlight was balanced along the walkway.
Where does the boardwalk lead?
The answer is totally left to the viewer’s imagination.
