Start of Summer

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and the “official” start of summer!

And as you do, take a minute to silently thank all the men and women who have served this country - many giving the ultimate sacrifice - so that we may live in freedom.

And also remember one of the last lines in the movie "Saving Private Ryan". Tom Hanks character says to Private Ryan, "Earn this".

We must earn this freedom, and do what we can to keep it free.

Vote

And yes, that means voting for people who promote, and believe in free and fair elections.

It means voting for people who believe the red, white and blue flies for each and every one of us, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation.

The thoughts that fall on Memorial Day, I hope, stay with us throughout the year.
