In Black and White, the roots of the pine trees at Dave's Falls County Park, reach out across the boulders

Reaching Roots - Creating Our Future

Interesting

Now this is an interesting image - wouldn't you agree?

In color, the details of the roots are lost. In B&W, the crawling roots become the main subject.

Similar to Us

When I saw this image, I immediately thought of how the pines are similar to our own lives.

Standing so tall, yet how overtime the roots became exposed.

Their landscape is altered dramatically.

Finding New Ground

Rather than accepting the conditions "as is", the tree roots reach out further for new ground.

The tree then, continues to reach skyward.

Reaching Out

That's much as our lives may be.

As we grow older (and hopefully slightly wiser), changes occur that require our reaching out for new ground.

Our roots, once firmly entrenched in the soil of our background, must actively seek out new sources of "nutrition" (education, experience, etc.). as the "rocks and boulders" of daily life alter our landscape.

Creating our Future

And just like the pines, we change and reach skyward.

Each day we create our new and exciting future.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

"If you do what you can do,

and I do what I can do,

together, we can make a difference.”
