Where does it go?

Standing under Hwy 23 bridge early November, the John Denver lyric floated into my mind.

"A road to nowhere and eternity" ("To the Wild Country").

I wonder

This is an "I wonder" image.

I wonder why the put the bridge where they did?

Was this a natural crossing prior to any bridge?

Did this replace a wooden bridge years ago?

And then - where does the road go after it crosses the Wisconsin River?

Just a thought

Who would think one short bridge could create so many questions?
