    Google Analytics Information

Like many other websites, the Powder Hill Photography LLC website uses Google Analytics to help assess and analyze website usage. This is a tracking code, specific to this site, that identifies which pages (and photos) viewers are reading and viewing.

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect standard internet logging information and visitor behavior information (ie, page views, time on page, etc.) in an anonymous way. No personal information is collected when you visit this website, browse the articles, and view the images.

The anonymous information generated by Google Analytics about your use of this website is transmitted to Google Analytics and is not stored on my computers. This information is processed to compile statistical reports on website activity.

I never know who the visitor is. Google Analytics data that is provided via reports includes, as an example, numbers of visitors over a predetermined timeframe, page views, time on site, content viewed, general geographic area. This information is used by me to provide content that makes Powder Hill Photography pages more engaging for visitors.

The information provided by Google Analytics within this report is never shared or sold to anyone or any entity. It is never downloaded. Google deletes this information after a period of time. If interested, Google Analytics has its own privacy page.

    Facebook Pixel and Ads

Powder Hill Photography LLC advertises on Facebook, and thus use of the Meta pixel on this website. This little code allows me to know how often an event has occurred on my page (ex. View Content, Start Checkout, etc).

    No Advertising

Your financial information is kept strictly with Squarespace Payments. Please see Squarespace Payments for their privacy statement.

    On-Line Orders - Data Collected

When you purchase a print on this Powder Hill Photography website, limited personal information is collected to fulfill the order. This can include:

    • Billing and shipping address

    • Details relating to your print purchase (ex. print file #, size, etc.)

    • Email address

    • Name

    • Phone number

Once you input your data on my website, it is auto forwarded to me. (That’s how I know to start your print order). I retain this information (see below) for order processing and fulfillment. Squarespace retains the information for order tracking and order history.

    Post-Order

After placing your order, you will receive email messages about its status. For example, we may email you to tell you that:

    • You’ve made a purchase, confirming the selected image and pricing.

    • Your order has shipped, confirming shipping method and tracking number.

    Data Retention

If you contact me using the contact form, your note is retained only as long as necessary. Until deletion, it is held in my Outlook folder.

The monthly email sign-up addresses are retained as long as the email continues to be sent, or until the recipient ops-out. At that time, all contact information is removed from the active email list. Squarespace retains the information in the “opted out” section, thus preventing any future emails being sent to the opted-out individual.

All print and licensing purchase information is retained for the life of Powder Hill Photography LLC. This information is retained in QuickBooks (on my computer). Print purchases made at art fairs where no contact information was provided are listed as only sales at the fairs.

For image financial tracking (to determine how anyone image is selling), I track the person’s name (if provided at time of purchase), the print size, the art fair, and the image number, all in the software program fotoBiz X, self-contained on my computer. For those who left no contact info, the same information is retained for each image, minus the purchaser’s name. This information is retained for the life of Powder Hill Photography LLC.

If an image is licensed (ex. for publication), the above is equally true regarding data retention.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have signed up for the newsletter email (and still receiving the it), purchased a print, or licensed an image, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data that Powder Hill Photography LLC holds about you, including any data you have provided to us. See above for what that might be.

If you no longer receive the newsletter email, your data has been removed from the email mailing list, and notated that you have opted out of anything future.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes is not included. You would need to contact third party vendors for their data deletion guidelines.

I hope I’ve covered it all for you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
