The Forest Legacy

Colorful yellow and red maple leaves on the ground in autumn, with a sunstar glancing through the surrounding trees

The Sunstar

Do you see the sunstar in this image?

Probably not at first.

Mosaic Legacy

The fallen leaves provide a mosaic of color across the hillside forest floor, illuminated by the diffused light sifting through the autumn canopy.

Each fall, the legacy of the various trees in the woods is created by their fallen foliage, individually and collectively in balance with the surrounding forest.

Long before I walked this path, someone felt the need to leave the legacy of public spaces available for all to enjoy.

What is Our Legacy?

National, state, county, or local parks, they saw the vision knowing full well they might not see the "fruit from the tree" they planted.

Which bears the question to consider -

What might be our collective legacy for future generations?
