Connected - Seeking Balance
Walking the Beach
While walking along the beach at Kohler-Andrae State Park (Wisconsin) a few years ago, I was observing how Lake Michigan would casually wash over the stones placed periodically on the beach.
The stones would move with each wave, or the sand would wash out from underneath.
Captured my Attention
This stone particularly caught my eye.
First it was the concentric circles radiated from the right edge.
Then, I noticed how quickly this stone was drying in the sun, and the pattern it was making as it was doing so.
Philosophical Stone
This is what I would call a philosophical stone.
The circles remind me that we are all part of one large globe, interconnected by the very air, sun and water we all share.
Yin Yang
Additionally, the pattern that developed as it dried was the yin and yang symbol.
Nothing in this world is static, as much as we may wish it were.
It is in a constant state of change, seeking balance and equilibrium.
In and Out of Balance
I guess this also shows we are never too far from being out-of-balance, and when in that state, we are never too far from getting back-in-balance!
