Print Donation Request
(October 5, 2018) – If you have a charity event that supports kids health, and in need of quality items which people can purchase, perhaps a fine art print would be of interest.
If so, check out my “Print Donation Request” page, and perhaps I can help.
Holy Hill Art Farm Fair – Oct 13 & 14th
October 13 & 14, 2018 – I’ll be at the Holy Hill Art Farm fair, Hubertus, Wisconsin. I’ll be set up with my art fair booth in the location as before, just outside the doors of the main barn.
Come on out and enjoy a great weekend on the farm. Free parking, Free Admission, and Free rural scenery
Pink Pumpkin Run (Hartford) – Oct 6th
(October 2018) – Today (Oct 3rd), I donated a 16×20 matted and framed print, and a 11×14 matted print to the Pink Pumpkin Run of Hartford, Wisconsin. I do not donate to every opportunity, though this one is of benefit to cancer patients and their families. A cause I feel is well worth the donation.
This organization, through their 5K run and activity proceeds, donates 100% back to local families effected by breast cancer by assisting with their “basic daily needs through gift cards and services”.
Hopefully the prints will help brighten someone’s day.
The race and other events will be held on October 6, 2018, in downtown Hartford.
West Bend (Wisconsin) Daily News Interview
(April 2018) – Late this winter, the West Bend Daily News interviewed a number of artists for their special “Exploring the Arts” section that appeared on April 12, 2018.
Various art genres were represented. I was the sole photographer interviewed for photography. (I have no idea of the selection process. They just called me one day).

Recent Web Site Changes
(May 2018) – In late April, early May, I once again made additional changes to my Powder Hill Photography web site.
(You’re probably thinking – again!)
The changes listed, and the many that aren’t, have greatly improved the speed and delivery of my site. I personally don’t enjoy slow sites!
I completely switched web hosting companies for the “front” portion of my site (all pages, blog posts, etc.) This portion now lives on WP Engine cloud servers.
The photography section also has changed. All images (except the banner images) are now on my PhotoShelter site. Although two distinct cloud services, to the viewer, it is essentially seamless.
There is now a section titled “Portfolio“, providing 10 different categories of no more than 20 images each. These are provided to give you a quick overview of my photography.
The on-line gallery section has been complete revamped, and is now located under the “Buy Prints” menu tab. It is here you’ll find the many, many images in location specific galleries.
With thousands of images in the galleries, looking for one image seem daunting. Save time, easily search for any image.
On-line ordering is now available for every image, search first for the image of you choice, then simply “Add to Cart”.
Any questions, please contact me.
Web Site Security
(August 2017) – This past month, a major upgrade occurred on my web site.
Now providing security on every page, post and images.
Having migrated from “http://” to “https://”, my site is now secured throughout. (Note the word “Secure” and/or a “lock symbol” in the URL address bar).
Printing on Aluminum – On Hold (for now)
(June 2017) – In the April newsletter I mentioned I was exploring printing on aluminum. Specifically, the product that I am considering is Breathing Colors, Allure.
The Allure is a pre-cut piece of aluminum coated with a white “paper-like” chemical that allows the ink of my Epson Stylus Pro 7900 ink jet printer to adhere. The result of my initial testing gives the appearance of paper on aluminum.
Because there are still many red flags that I need to bring down before I confidently offer prints on aluminum, this idea is on hold – for now – until I have time to evaluate it further.
Paying it Forward – 10th Anniversary
(December 2015) – Next year (2016) will be my 10th anniversary year for Powder Hill Photography LLC. I’m very pleased to reach that milestone, and look forward to 20th & 30th anniversaries!
As you know, sometimes the trail is rough, rocky, and mountainous. And it is also, always fun!
I know that I didn’t hit this mark alone.
Unable to thank everyone, I’m using the entire year as a means to “pay it forward”. I’m working to put together a very special, year-long project “paying it forward“, specifically helping kids. You may even want to participate, so stay tuned!
