Dave’s Falls is located on the Pike River, in Dave’s Falls Marinette County Park, just south of Amberg, Wisconsin off Highway 141. Marinette County, with its rocky, hilly terrain, is host to 14 different waterfalls of varying heights. The county has developed a “waterfalls auto tour”, which can take a full day if you decide to spend some time at each.
There are two different falls within the park. The Pike River in the upper falls slides over and down large boulders, for a drop of perhaps 6-8 feet. The lower falls drops perhaps 12-15 feet in what reminds me of a narrow chute, with high granite walls on each side.
Dave’s Falls is always an enjoyable location, if for nothing else than to become mesmerized by the sound of the water falls. I try to visit this falls once each year, in late spring.
