Mid-October afternoon along the shoreline of Firefly Lake in northern Wisconsin. The shadows were getting longer and softer. What little wind present drifted silently over the lake. Only periodic rippling of the water gave way to the wind’s presence.
As I walked around this area, what caught my attention was the combination of all of these things, including the oak leaves with their golden color.
With the sun somewhat beside and behind me, I wanted to capture the feeling of “being there”, along the lakeshore and under the afternoon shadows of the shoreline pines.
Can You Feel It?
While emotionally standing within the image, do you feel the coolness of the October afternoon?
Do you find yourself wanting to walk down along the shoreline, off to the left within the image?
Feel that sense of calmness that is emitted from this image?
I find that my mind drifts through this image, peacefully seeking out what lies in the shadows, or what might break the smooth surface of the lake.
I find that I’m just wandering!
