Easy & Convenient
PhotoShelter, my hosting service for all images on this site and in the image archive, provides a safe and convenient on-line ordering check-out process. All financial transactions are processed through PayPal. You are able to use Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express to make your purchase.
Please note – you will not be providing me with any financial information — that all happens only on the PayPal site. Neither I nor PhotoShelter see this information.
Below I have broken out the print-purchase check-out process in 10 easy steps. Many screens simply “review” or “confirm” previous data entry. The check-out process is quite simple.
If you have any questions throughout the process, send me a short note. Until you process payment through PayPal, your order has not been finalized.
The only screens I have not provided are those you will encounter on your PayPal account, which remains the same as you’ve used for all of your PayPal transactions.
THE EASY, QUICK, & SIMPLE CHECK-OUT PROCESS
STEP 1 – IMAGE SELECTION
To initiate the purchase of your desired print, you’ve just performed a search of the full image archive, and are now looking at the images returned. The above example are some images that were returned using the keywords “Wisconsin + lake + Vilas”. PHP_IMG_12523 has been selected. Clicking on the thumbnail of the desired image displays the larger image screen (as illustrated below).
STEP 2 – ADDING IMAGE TO CART
STEP 3 – SELECTING THE PRINT SIZE AND STYLE
A smaller pop-up window now appears, with all print sizes, styles (matted, print-only, Dura Plaq, panoramic, triptych) and pricing. Select the size and style you desire, by placing the number required. (The example shows one 16×24 Dura Plaq selected).
With one (or more) sizes selected, once again click the green “Add to Cart” arrow in the lower right.
STEP 4 – CONFIRMING INDIVIDUAL IMAGE SELECTION
After pressing the green “Add to Cart” arrow/button, you are presented with a confirming screen of your most recent selection. If this is the extent of your order, click the blue “Check Out”. If you wish to add other images, click “Continue Shopping”.
A small thumbnail image of your selection is always provided on the left, yielding visual confirmation of your selected image.
STEP 5 – INITIAL ORDER CONFIRMATION
If you made only one selection, you’ll see basically the same information on this confirmation screen as you saw on the previous screen. If you had selected two or more prints for your order, this screen shows your total order summary. Thumbnail images are provided for each selection.
STEP 6 – GUEST CHECK-OUT
Now that you’ve made your selection of the images and print sizes/styles, it is time to add your shipping information. This screen allows you to either create a new account with PhotoShelter (my web hosting service), or check out as a “Guest”.
Checking out as a guest does not require a PhotoShelter account, and may be much easier for you. (It is my personal choice when offered). To continue under Guest Checkout, simply click “Continue”. (“Sign In” will take you to the screens to create a PhotoShelter account).
STEP 7 – ENTERING SHIPPING INFORMATION
This is the screen which follows “Guest Checkout”. Add your name and shipping address where you desire your print to be sent. Please note I use FedX Ground or similar shippers which all require street addresses for delivery. Once your information is inputted, click the blue “Continue”.
STEP 8 – CONFIRMING SHIPPING ADDRESS
This small screen provides confirmation for you to review the shipping address just entered. I know sometimes I go way too fast and make a mistake at this part of an order.
This screen can be a lifesaver in those situations. I sure wouldn’t want to ship your print to the wrong address! Once approved, click the blue “Continue” button.
STEP 9 – ADDING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
This screen provides two items of interest. First, it shows shipping cost and sales tax. (Because I used Wisconsin as a demo address, it factored in automatically the Wisconsin sales tax. Out-of-state purchases will not have sales tax applied). Shipping is free (within the continental US).
Secondly, and very importantly, this screen also requires you to provide your email address. Email is the means by which I will communicate with you regarding shipping tracking information and delivery timeline. Upon adding your email address, click the blue “Continue” button. (Please note – your email address is not shared or sold with anyone).
STEP 10 – FULL ORDER CONFIRMATION – (BEFORE GOING TO PAYPAL)
Your final “Order Summary” confirmation screen appears prior to going to PayPal to finalize your transaction. You will see all the shipping information (address, shipper, etc.), your email address, your selected image(s) with the respective print size and type, and final pricing.
In addition to confirming all information, you’ll need to also click the small box that says “I have read the Content Licensing Agreement and my order to the left is correct”. (Circled in red above). You’ll be prevented from continuing to PayPal until this small box is checked.
Should you need to correct some aspect of your order, simply click the “Edit” button for the specific section you wish to change. You’ll be immediately taken to the appropriate screen where you can make the necessary changes.
STEP 11 – ORDER COMPLETED, PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL
With all information correct and the small box checked, click the green “Continue to PayPal” button.
All financial information will be captured on the PayPal screens. I never see any of your financial information. Upon payment, PayPal will send me a confirming “payment received”. I will commence fulfilling your order typically the next day.
No orders are placed until final payment is made through PayPal. Until that time, your selection remains only in your cart).
